Accessibility Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater works hard to provide for the needs of audience members with accessibility challenges. The facility is accessible via elevators at the 50th street entrance. Additionally, the theater is outfitted with RF Assistive Listening device transmitters. When you visit the theater, be sure to visit the Box Office or ask the event staff to request a receiver or for any additional assistance you may need.

Applause Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater requests that you hold applause until appropriate points during the production. Generally speaking, if the audience starts applauding or during curtain calls, it will be an appropriate time.

Children Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater events and productions attempt to provide entertainment that can be enjoyed by audience members of all ages. Some events can be upsetting for younger audiences, so please be sure to check the event description or call the box office at 212-921-7862 to see if an event is appropriate for younger audiences. All attendees require their ticket and if younger children get upset or loud during a show, you may be asked to leave the theatre.

Dress Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater does not have a specific dress code for patrons and guests. Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather.

Food and Beverage Policy

Outside food and drink are prohibited inside the facilities at Anne L. Bernstein Theater. You can purchase snacks and refreshments at either of the two on-site bars.

Late Arrival Policy

All Anne L. Bernstein Theater shows and events start promptly at the time listed on your ticket. Guests who arrive late will be asked to wait in the lobby to prevent disruption for guests and actors. Late arrival will be allowed at appropriate break periods arranged before the show. To prevent frustration, please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled show start time to give you plenty of time to find your seat.

Lost and Found Policy

If you lost something valuable or important during your visit, please call 212-921-7862. You should be prepared to offer or leave detailed information including, your full name, your contact information, detailed description of your lost item(s), and the day and event you attended when your item(s) went missing. Staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

Meet and Greet Policy

Many shows at Anne L. Bernstein Theater have opportunities after performances where you can meet the actors. But there is no guarantee that they will be available, so please be sure to ask event staff or call the Box Office at 212-921-7862 for more details.

Photography and Video Policy

Due to copyright law, and to respect show producers and managers, photography, video, and audio recording, radios, or any other playback device is prohibited in the theatre. 

Prohibited Items

Because of state and federal law, copyright law, and license regulations, Anne L. Bernstein Theater prohibits the following items on the premises.

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Outside food and beverages
  • Photography, Video, Sound recording equipment
  • Drugs or any illegal substances

Please keep cellphones, watches, and watch alarms off during a show or event. Disruptions caused by these devices may result in event staff asking you to leave the theatre.

Event staff reserves the right to inspect your bags or ask you to check your bags before your scheduled performance.

Smoking Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater and The Theater Center does not allow smoking anywhere on the premises. This includes cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and other similar devices or paraphernalia. Ticket Policy

All ticket sales are final, so please be sure that you order a ticket for a day and time that you can attend.

Tour Policy

Anne L. Bernstein Theater believes that tours are a great way to learn more about the world of Off-Broadway Theater and can add a lot to the theater-going experience.
