The Anne L. Bernstein Theater Information

Anne L. Bernstein Theater is one of two theaters incorporated in The Theater Center, a 20,000 square-foot entertainment center located on the corner of 50th st and Broadway in New York City. The Theater Center opened on May 22, 2006, splitting it’s total 398 capacity between the Jerry Orbach and Anne L. Bernstein Theaters. Many theater-goers in New York enjoy visiting the center since it doesn’t just feature exciting shows and events, but also has rehearsal studios, lobbies with WiFi access, and two bars featuring cabaret-style seating.
Fans of merchandise and memorabilia will also enjoy the two merchandise stands to offer a huge selection of memorabilia to commemorate their visit and the high-quality shows that they get to enjoy at either of the two stages.
Both theaters were named after important figures in Broadway, with The Jerry Orbach Theater named after famed Broadway and Law & Order actor Jerry Orbach. The Anne L. Bernstein is named after the producer by the same name, who is most famous for being an associate producer of Marlene in 1999. Marlene made a big enough splash on the theater community that when the complex opened, the owners were honored to name the new proscenium stage after the producer. The owners were pleased to have Bernstein in attendance at the naming dedication.
While The Theater Center is only a little over 10 years old, it has already featured a long-running revival of The Fantasticks, the world’s longest-running musical as well as Perfect Crime, the longest-running non-musical play in New York theater history.
